Welcome to the website of Great Bromley & District Cricket Club.
Great Bromley & District cricket club was formed in 1920. Our ground was donated to the club by Mr Percy Crossman, who originally stipulated that it was not to be used on Sundays. The ground, which is situated behind the village hall, is widely regarded as a beautiful place to play cricket.
Apart from the present crop of stars that can be seen at Great Bromley, it was reported that Douglas Jardine and Ken Farnes both played at here during the war.
Our cricket is played in the PDQ league and also the 2 Counties Leagues. 2007 will hold many tests for both sides as the 1st aim to get promotion back into the 1st division after a disapointing relegation season last year, and the 2nds have great hopes of promotion in 2 Counties Division 8.
We are a great family orientated club, who just enjoy playing cricket. . |
